Fetch Quest - a deck-building game in the Realms of Pugmire

Created by Richard Thomas / Onyx Path Publishing

Fetch Quest is a family-friendly cooperative deck-building game. Each player represents a pioneer, one of six adventurous dogs on a dangerous quest. The pioneers work together to overcome dangerous challenges and resolve missions. Once the missions are resolved, the quest is finished and the players win the game.

Latest Updates from Our Project:

Realms of Pugmire Roundup - June 2018
almost 6 years ago – Mon, Jul 02, 2018 at 06:38:54 AM

Hello Barkers,

We're still in that middle phase, where Kickstarter is collecting and processing payments and we wait to put together the post-campaign pledge manager. There was a minor glitch in the matrix for some, who seemed stuck on the Active side of the campaign, but that seems to be sorted now and everything's moving in the right direction.

While we wait for Kickstarter to finish their business, I'm happy to post Eddy's Realms of Pugmire Roundup for June 2018.

Realms of Pugmire Update (June 2018) from Eddy Webb

Hello all you good dogs and excellent cats! Now that we have three Kickstarters related to the Realms of Pugmire, I'll be doing my usual monthly updates for all three at once. If we have updates related to a specific Kickstarter campaign, you'll still see those separately. However, we've heard so many fans want to be aware of all the Pugmire and Mau things, so now it's all in one place!

FETCH QUEST!

Our Kickstarter for Fetch Quest, the Pugmire deck-building game, was quite a success! We hit 350% of our goals, unlocking cat pioneer cards and the ability for people to make their own Fetch Quest cards through Canis Minor. Thanks to everyone who backed, and if you didn't, we'll have pre-orders up via BackerKit soon!

PROJECT STATUS

Here's the status of all the Pugmire-related projects we can talk about, drawn directly from our meeting notes on Monday!

First Draft (The first phase of a project that is about the work being done by writers, not dev prep)

  • Tales of Excellent Cats - Mau Fiction Anthology (Monarchies of Mau)
  • Adventures for Curious Cats (Monarchies of Mau)

Second Draft

  • Tales of Good Dogs – Pugmire Fiction Anthology (Pugmire)
  • Roll of Good Dogs and Excellent Cats (Pugmire/Monarchies of Mau)

Development

  • Fetch Quest

Indexing

  • Monarchies of Mau (Monarchies of Mau)

In Layout

  • Fetch Quest – Playtest decks uploaded for Gen Con demos

At Press

  • Monarchies of Mau Screen – Files sent to printer

WHAT'S NEXT FOR THE REALMS OF PUGMIRE?

Now that Fetch Quest is done, and we're getting good momentum on the Mau stretch goal projects, Onyx Path and Pugsteady have launched into the next phase of negotiations -- or, in other words, Rich and I got onto Skype and kicked around ideas for a while. I have an outline to write and some research to do, but no details yet. But as soon as we're ready to announce something, we'll make sure all our Realms of Pugmire fans are told!

Meanwhile, At Our Current Kickstarter:

On Monday, July 2nd, 12 noon Eastern US time, we start the Kickstarter for Geist: The Sin-Eaters 2nd Edition for Chronicles of Darkness! If the very brief bit of info below sounds interesting, we'll have a lot more when the KS goes live - love to see you there!

In Geist: The Sin-Eaters, you play a person who died with a powerful burden on their soul — something they didn't accomplish in life, or something they never found. On the other side of the veil, they made a bargain with a powerful being called a geist, which returned them to the world of the living and to their own body, at the cost of a permanent bond between them and the geist. Now your character stands as a medium, with one foot in the world of the living and one in the world of the dead.

Quest Complete!
almost 6 years ago – Thu, Jun 28, 2018 at 10:13:07 AM

Hello Fetch Quest Barkers,

Congratulations! You've put up with my terrible puns and pet-themed updates for 30 days, and together, we've funded the Fetch Quest card game. New art! A boxed edition! Pioneer Cat alternative cards! A Community Content program! Fantastic!

THANK YOU

So, thank you to all the backers who supported us and made this happen. And a personal thanks to everyone who participated online, either in the comments section of the kickstarter or on social media around the web. Just adopting a new pet, I'm ready to spend most of my day talking about my dog - or, more likely, talking to my dog. It was great to hear about everyone's pets and furry friends.

COMMUNICATION

So, as noted, I'll be sending out updates once a month and whenever we've got a new goal, survey, or other item to cover.

If you have any questions or need clarification on something related to the kickstarter, you can leave it in the comment section - I will be notified with every addition. Or, you can find the Contact Creator button and Rich will forward your message to me.

For rules stuff and questions about the game itself, it's probably best to visit the Onyx Path forums and talk directly with the team there: http://forum.theonyxpath.com/forum/main-category/cavaliers-of-mars-and-pugmire

And, don't forget to check out Eddy's Realms of Pugmire landing page for all things Pugmire!

So, thanks to everyone for a successful campaign! 350% of our funding target!

We're all good dogs, and we all deserve a treat!

I'm going to go rest up now... always fun to recover after a kickstarter campaign - but will be in touch again soon!

Celebrate!

48 Hours Remaining...
almost 6 years ago – Mon, Jun 25, 2018 at 01:10:28 PM

Hello kickstarter barkers,

We're just about to hit the Final 48 Hours of our kickstarter campaign. We've have some great movement and seen many new backers (barkers!) join in on our endeavor.

For new backers, here are some key updates to check out before the end of the campaign:

Reward Tiers & Reward Descriptions

Print & Play Preview PDF [Backers Only]

Cat Pioneer Playtest Cards [Backers Only]

Info on our Next Stretch Goal

Hitting that next Stretch Goal, which happens if we reach $20,000 in funding, opens up so many possibilities for expansion and fan participation with this game. So, keep spreading the word and let's keep following that scent until we reach our reward.

I also wanted to share this artifact from the development of Fetch Quest, a special "Murray in a Dragon Costume" card. For those that don't know, Murray was Eddy Webb's 14-year-old pug who passed away last September. Mike Chaney, the art director for Fetch Quest, used his favorite Murray picture as a placeholder piece of art, and all of the playtesters fell in love with the card.

It's definitely tough to think of Murray as a challenge to conquer rather than a cutie to cuddle!

OK, team - let's keep pushing through these final 48 hours. Next Stretch Goal in sight... with effort, we can make it!

Final 24 Hours... (and next Stretch Goal...)
almost 6 years ago – Mon, Jun 25, 2018 at 01:10:11 PM

Hello Fetch Quest Barkers!

We've had a tremendous few days, gaining much ground and rapidly approaching our current Stretch Goal target.

I wanted to reveal what our next Stretch Goal will be... just in case we blow past our current goal, so that we all know what we're moving toward.

At $23,000 in funding - A New Mission and Challenges – 5 new cards will be added to the Fetch Quest Booster Cards.

This mission and set of challenges can replace your B cards in the quest deck. The mission is to defeat One-Eyed Molly, a zombie cat! Here's what her card statistics might look like:

One-Eyed Molly
Defeat: Any 8
Danger: 5
One-Eyed Molly goes to the top of the Challenge queue instead of drawing a card from the Challenge deck.
Tag: Undead

Pretty cool!

But, before I get too far ahead of myself, our current goal:

At $20,000 in funding - Community Content from Canis Minor can be added to DriveThruCards.com.

This will open the game up and provide tools and a platform so that fans and amateur designers can create and distribute expansions and new cards for your Fetch Quest game! So excited about this goal!

FINAL 48 HOURS

One last big push, everyone! Let's bust open the Community Content, and then let's really push to add a new mission and challenges to our booster deck!

Tomorrow morning, I'll post final reminders and outline the next steps and what to expect as we transition into the post-campaign period. Until then... keep spreading the word! Let's finish strong!

Final Hours and Next Steps
almost 6 years ago – Mon, Jun 25, 2018 at 01:10:01 PM

Hello Fetch Quest Barkers,

We're about to enter the final five hours of the campaign. It's going to be quite exciting - the past 24 hours have been a fun race toward the finish, and I don't see that slowing down until the very end.

First off, huge welcome to all new backers! A quick tour of the basics:

CHECKLIST

1. Reward Tier

Please ensure you've selected the Reward Tier that best represents your desired rewards for this project. An update breaking down all of the Reward Tiers and Reward Descriptions is HERE <link>, summarized by this chart:

Shipping is calculated automatically by Kickstarter, based on your location, and added on to your Pledge Total.  Your PLEDGE TOTAL is the sum of your REWARD TIER + SHIPPING.

2. Payment and Contact Information

Once you're comfortable with your pledge, please ensure that the payment and contact information in your kickstarter account is up to date and correct. Making sure your e-mail is entered correctly and your credit card isn't expired will speed up the next step process. (I have learned from experience!)

WHAT COMES NEXT?

3. After the Campaign Ends

First, we celebrate. Kickstarter will send out a "Hooray!" email confirming the campaign ended with final totals. We'll give high fives in the comments section.

Then, the Kickstarter payment process begins. Over the next two weeks, kickstarter will begin charging your payment methods for the total amount you've pledged.

If there is an issue with your payment method (expired credit card or incorrect number or pre-paid Visa awaiting funds, for example), Kickstarter will keep trying to process payment during this time.

Once this step is done, which will likely be mid-July, Kickstarter will confirm everything with Onyx Path and transfer the funds over to them (less the Kickstarter fees, of course!).

Once the payment is confirmed, I can begin to set up the project with BackerKit and link it to the Kickstarter data.

Backerkit is a robust fulfillment management program that will allow us to work with all of the data and distribute the rewards to you. It will take me around a week to set the project up. Once I've got it all entered and built, the team from BackerKit will review to ensure I didn't mess anything up too badly, and then I'll make any changes they've suggested and we can move on to the Survey stage.

4. Backerkit Surveys

Once BackerKit says I'm good to go, I will send out a survey to all backers. This is why confirming your e-mail is important! The survey will list the reward tier you've chosen, confirm all of the rewards associated with that reward tier, and confirm your total pledge amount. I expect Surveys to go out near the end of July.

During the Survey period, you can also also choose to increase your reward tier. If you've managed to get a tax refund and decide it's time to trade up to get two copies of the game or decide you want the digital bundle, you can do so at this time. Note, you will not be able to reduce your reward tier selection, only increase.

If there was an issue with payment to Kickstarter, you should also be able to address that at this point.

The survey will ask you to confirm your shipping address, even though it'll be some time before we ship out the final product. Do not worry about moving before shipping begins - you will be able to update BackerKit right up until the point that we begin fulfilling the final game. We will send out a notice prior to lock down so you can update any information.

5. Reward Distribution

Once we've got the majority of the surveys confirmed, I will be able to begin some of the digital reward fulfillment - the Pugmire PDF Bundle. I'm targeting mid-September for this (assuming surveys are mostly complete).

After that, Onyx Path continues the process of building the Fetch Quest final game, and begins work on the other items added during this campaign (cat pioneer cards, canis minor templates and resources, etc.)

This is a long process, but I will send out regular updates (usually at the beginning of the month) to keep you up to speed on our progress. There will be strings of updates that are just "still working on it," but I will share new artwork or information when I can.

It's a long road ahead, but one that we wouldn't be on if not for your support.

Thanks to everyone for participating in this campaign and I look forward to a strong finish this afternoon! Let's push and see if we can achieve one more Stretch Goal...
